Even though he's gone now, we will always keep his memory alive in our home.

His folding chair that he used to lay on will never be put away.  It will never be permanently put away.

Nora has a cat pin I painted for her to look like 'Mitri.  the figure lays just as he did, and it even has a frown, of course.

My favorite sweatshirt is a white one that Nora painted to look like his face.  Again, with a slight frown.

'Mmitri and Sky on the computer desk in the office - 1990 or '91

Dmitri would sometimes keep me company while I worked at the computer in the office, laying on top of the desk.  I could reach up and stroke his head, which I'm sure was what he intended.

After he was gone, Nora found a handsome photo of him and framed it, placing it on the desk so that I'll always have my "computer kitten".

This is such a small book for containing so many memories of the 3 1/2 years we had with him.  If only there could've been more...  Poor 'Mitri was just a victim of bad genes.  At least we have the consolation that out of the millions of animals who never knew a home, never cared for by anyone -- all those that had to be euthanized -- for his 3 1/2 years, he was loved very much, and always will be.
