| Lots of designs can be achieved by stitching the design with strong thread and drawing it up into pleats. Color application can be awkward depending on your design but I've seen a very nicely done Peace symbol and have done a Heart myself. Symmetrical designs can be done with the garment folded in half and stitching only half of the design through both layers. | |

| The Mandala is based on a
six-pointed star but no one seems to have a diagram or instructions on
how to do it. And of course when people see the design in the book
that's what they want and I haven't quite figured it out yet. But I'm
working on it.
Working from diagrams for an eight-pointed star and extrapolating the geometry from there I've had one semi-succesful attempt. It doesn't look as nice as the real one but I'll keep trying and keeping notes so if I ever figure it out I'll be able to reproduce it. |
