Field Trips
More reasons why you should come early and stay late for CC25. |
Thursday afternoon/evening will
be a run to Jackman's Fabrics, which features a good selection of finer Bridal fabrics, and a wide variety of unusual cottons & cotton prints. We're working on a discount on most items bought that night. The store will be open until 9 pm. Committee member Cathy Swope will be working that night to assist any costumers who stop by. |
And on Monday: |
A visit to ST Leather: Suggested meeting
time will be 9:30 AM. The proprietors will let people come in and wander around the warehouse to shop (and smell the leather!) Follow this with: Jackman's Fabrics
reprise + Artistic Fabrics: Both of these will be led by Cathy Swope. |
Costumes! Sheila Lenkman is
offering a tour of the costume warehouses of both The Repertory Theatre and the Opera Theatres of St. Louis. The SLCG has seen the former. Excellent stuff, and Sheila sez the Opera Theatre warehouse is even more fabulous! Meeting time is approximately 12:00, to arrive at the Opera at 12:30 pm. From there, the group will proceed to the Repertory Theatre's warehouse |
www.cahokiamounds.com/cahokia.html. It is the location of the "largest pre-historic Indian city in North America". Kate McClure has offered to lead this one but they are not open on Monday at this time of year. |
Of course, all of these will be
dependent on availability of transportation. There will be a signup sheet for the Monday activities for interested parties (and for willing drivers). We may be able to convince one or two staffers to be chauffeurs; but if anyone is driving to St. Louis for the con, we'd appreciate hearing from them, too. |
