Green Room Etiquette

Above all - follow the Green Room Director's instructions

Second -  follow your Den Mom's instructions

Show up in plenty of time to get the pre-show stuff done without rushing; be ready to have your official photo taken in a timely fashion.

The Green Room is for performers and their assistants only. Friends and family should only be in the audience.

Don't hog Green Room seating with your props and storage cases.

Don't hog the mirrors.

Don't bogart your Den Mom (or anyone else's).

Don't feel slighted if some of your fellow costumers don't talk much to you. They're probably as nervous or more so than you. They'll be happy to talk to after the show and in the Costumers Suite.

Eat before the masquerade. It should be light and bland, in case you have a nervous stomach. Soup is an excellent choice.

Use the bathroom before you get into costume.

If you must leave your den or the room, make sure your Den Mom knows you're leaving & where you're going. DON'T wander off once the masquerade has started.

If you have wings or a wide skirt, be aware of the space you're taking up. Frequently, space is at a premium in a Green Room. Don't block the aisles.

Be considerate of other people's costumes.

Do not rehearse your presentation in the Green Room.

Don't block the view of the backstage feed, if there is one. Other people want to watch, too.

Some costumers are more modest in the Green Room than others. Try not to be offended and not offend others.

As you go on stage, let the ninjas assist you on and off stage.

And once again, remember that all the staff are volunteers.
